Raw materials, including seamless tubes, piston rods, seals, and high-tensile steel materials, are procured from approved sources and undergo detailed inspection for dimensional accuracy, hardness, surface finish, and material conformity as per engineering requirements. Material traceability is maintained throughout the production cycle.
MACHINING & PROCESS INSPECTION
Machining operations, including boring, honing, grinding, threading, and CNC turning, are monitored using calibrated measuring instruments to maintain strict tolerances and precision standards.
Inspection Instruments:

Welding operations are carried out using qualified welding procedures and inspected through visual inspection, dimensional verification, and dye penetrant testing (DPT) wherever applicable to ensure structural integrity and weld quality.
Assembly activities are performed under controlled procedures, including seal installation checks, alignment verification, and contamination control practices to ensure leak-free and smooth hydraulic operation.
HYDRAULIC TESTING FACILITIES
Each hydraulic cylinder and hydraulic system undergoes multistage inspection and testing under controlled operating conditions before dispatch. The applicable testing sequence is selected according to the cylinder design, rated operating pressure, bore, rod diameter, stroke, mounting arrangement, and application requirements.
Testing facilities include:

Hydrostatic pressure testing can be carried out at pressures up to 500 kg/cm², subject to the approved cylinder design, component pressure ratings, and applicable testing procedure.
For controlled functional testing, cycle testing, internal leakage testing, and simulated load-performance evaluation, Western Hydraulics India Pvt. Ltd. operates an advanced closed-loop hydraulic cylinder test bench with proportional pressure control up to 300 bar.
Inspection reports, test certificates, and quality-control records are maintained for critical manufacturing and testing activities, as applicable.
ADVANCED HYDRAULIC CYLINDER TEST BENCH
Western Hydraulics India Pvt. Ltd. operates an advanced hydraulic cylinder test bench designed to evaluate cylinder performance under controlled and simulated operating-load conditions.
The cylinder under test is connected to a controlled opposing-load arrangement in a closed-loop hydraulic circuit. This enables the test bench to generate, regulate and maintain load during cylinder extension, retraction, pressure holding, and automatic cycle testing.
The system incorporates hydraulic and control components from internationally recognized manufacturers, including Bosch Rexroth, HYDAC, Danfoss, and Yuken. It supports manual and automatic testing with proportional control, digital pressure monitoring, safety interlocks, and graphical test-data recording.
Key Features and Operating Capabilities:
1. High-Flow and Low-Flow Pump Stations: Separate high-flow and low-flow pumping arrangements with automatic standby mode for efficient operation during different stages of testing.
2. Automatic Reciprocating Cycle Testing: Automatic extension and retraction of the cylinder with cycle counting and operating-time measurement.
3. Multiple Pressure and Flow Selection: Selection of different operating pressures and flow rates according to the test sequence and cylinder application.
4. Pressure Cut-Off Cycle: Automatic pressure cut-off testing with selectable flow for controlled pressure-holding and performance verification.
5. Fully Proportional Control: Proportional control of pressure, flow, and cylinder movement through potentiometer-based manual or automatic operation.
6. Proportional Pressure Regulation from 0 to 300 Bar: A proportional pressure-relief valve enables smooth and accurate adjustment of pressure throughout the test cycle.
7. Internal Leakage and Bypass Testing: Controlled internal leakage testing using proportional pressure regulation to evaluate piston-seal performance and pressure-holding capability.
8. Automatic Position Locking and Holding Cycle: Automatic locking and pressure-holding tests at different cylinder stroke positions to verify cylinder stability and internal sealing performance.
9. Wireless Remote Manual Operation: Manual cylinder operation and test control through a wireless remote for improved operator convenience and safety.
10. Automatic Testing with Safety Guard and Interlocks: Automatic test cycles are performed with a protective safety guard arrangement and suitable operating interlocks.
11. Digital Pressure Monitoring and Graph Generation: Real-time pressure data is monitored and recorded graphically for analysis of cylinder performance throughout the test cycle.
12. IoT-Enabled Digital Pressure Transmitters: Digital pressure transmitters provide accurate pressure measurement, data acquisition, and improved test-data traceability.
The advanced test bench can be used for:

The testing parameters and operating sequence are selected according to the cylinder bore, rod diameter, stroke, rated operating pressure, application requirements, and approved customer or OEM testing procedure.
This advanced testing facility enables Western Hydraulics India Pvt. Ltd. to verify the sealing performance, pressure stability, repeatability, operational safety, and functional reliability of hydraulic cylinders before final inspection and dispatch.
CLEANLINESS AND CONTAMINATION CONTROL
All hydraulic cylinder components, internal passages, ports, and assembly areas are properly cleaned before assembly and testing. Filtered hydraulic oil is used during testing, and suitable contamination-control practices are followed to prevent entry of dust, metal particles and foreign material.
Where required, hydraulic oil cleanliness is verified through particle-counting inspection and supported by an appropriate test report or certificate. After testing, all ports are properly capped or plugged to prevent contamination during storage and transportation.
